Hlynur Gudjonsson
Hlynur is a typical 'lonesome singer'. When you see him on stage you know why they say that about him. He writes fragile songs about the endless darkness. "Quiet is the new loud", without pop. He brakes with the rules that the music theory comes up with. He found his own measures and rhythms and grows with his songs. Hlynurs world offers stories about failure and the ghosts that are pushing him forward. The music is sad and reflective, bliss and glory won't show up at any point. The listener is taken to an intensive and touching journey which is rare to find in modern live music.
"I love being on stage and taking the audience to a meditative place far away from their daily grind." After his small tour in fall 2008 was a good success, there will be a bigger tour in 2009. His gig at the Folk Art Now festival in December 2008 was recorded and released through gold and silver recordings. "My home is the road, I'm excited where it may take me next year."
From time to time Hlynur is also backing guitarist for the folk singer Haruko.
